Ali’i Beach Park - Haleiwa

Ali’i Beach Park is located on Oahu’s north shore. Situated just at the edge of historic Haleiwa, Ali’i Beach Park is within walking distance of the boat harbor, gas station, and grocery store. There is also a surf shop on the beach itself for snacks and drinks. There are also three sets of restrooms, conveniently placed throughout the beach.
My family goes to Ali’i quite frequently. It’s not too far from our house, and the beach is never too crowded to be enjoyable. On Saturdays and Sundays, many people and groups have picnics, so parking is a little trickier, but never impossible.

One of my favorite things about this beach is that there are picnic tables nearby, placed under the cool shade of palm trees. Sometimes we bring a lunch with us to eat in between swimming and playing in the sand.

There is plenty of sea life at Ali’i. Last week there were several giant sea turtles swimming around, and we almost always see an eel or two. There are also many schools of fish who occupy the waters near the beach, so it’s a good idea to bring a snorkel set with a good mask.

Families, couples, and children love this beach. In the mornings, people can be seen out for scuba diving and surfing before lunch. In the afternoons, the beaches are filled with children laughing and playing with their parents, and couples enjoying a peaceful time together.
